Since the carefree days of my childhood, art has been a big, juicy source of joy in my life. Although I am a writer by profession (I recently wrote Intimate Weddings: Planning a Small Wedding that Fits Your Budget and Style (Northlight Books,2004), the peace I feel when I sit down to create a work of visual art is untouchable.

With the birth of my two daughters, I've returned to art with a new enthusiasm. Every spare moment I have now is devoted to my collages.

Currently, my favourite style of art is collage - especially collage portraits and fairies. I am fascinated by faces (whenever I doodle, I always draw faces. You should see the margins of my old university notes!) I don't pre-plan my characters - they just arrive. I have created more than 200 aceos since December 2005 (now, that's one BIG family) and although I have a soft spot for each one, I love letting them go on their merry way (usually by air) to their true homes.
